Debra is a native Augustan with more than 22 years of IT experience. She currently works as an IT Project Manager at the Augusta University. Experienced, well-organized and meticulous IT professional with strong technical and project/program management skills.  She received her B.S. from Paine College in Management Information Systems and her M.S. from George Washington University in Project Management. Debra has been a member of PMI since 2007 and obtained her Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) in 2012.  In 2016, she joined the PMI board for the Augusta-Aiken Chapter and assumed the role of Vice President Membership.  Along with administrative membership support, she develops strategies to increase and sustain membership and act as lead for the chapter membership campaign.

During her current tenure and through the efforts of the entire board of directors, the chapter was recognized as being a part of the 500 Club as part of the Refer-A-Member program, recognition for membership exceeding 400 members and one of only 2 chapters in Region 14 to have the highest 1st year retention score.  Debra recently began recruiting volunteers to develop a membership team that will focus on membership recruitment and retention activities.  Debra has been married for 34 years to Robert McDaniel, a retired Army First Sergeant who now works as a Communications Course Manager at Fort Gordon and the mother of two wonderful sons. Debra loves people and always looks for ways to support and encourage them to be their best self.  She is excited about this opportunity to continue to serve the profession and her community through PMI.
